My name is Chad and I’m the geek awesome guy behind the content here at WelcomeToWP (I’m also that incredibly suave voice you hear in the tutorial videos 😉 ).
I love WordPress. One of my best/worst traits (depending on the situation) is that I love to “tinker” with things to find out how and why they work (or don’t work… which can often be much more fun). WordPress provides the perfect outlet for that particular obsession, because I get to play with all sorts of fun code. Combine all of that with a genuine enjoyment of teaching, and this blog is the end result. I get to play with work on and learn new and exciting WordPress topics, and then share that knowledge with awesome people like yourself.
WordPress is as great as it is because it provides nearly limitless possibilities for both newbies and blogging veterans alike. It is incredibly flexible and adaptable to virtually any situation. The only drawback to all of that flexibility, is that it comes with a learning curve, and depending on what you want to do, that curve can be pretty intense.
The goal of WelcomeToWP.com is to shorten that learning curve as much as humanly possible regardless of your current comfort/skill level. Pull up a chair, check out some of the tutorial videos and let us know if you have any questions.
In all honesty, this blog really wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the support of my boss beautiful and dedicated* wife, Lynne. She is the constant source of motivation and focus that makes all of this possible. If you find any of the posts or videos on this blog helpful in any way, be sure to thank her first.
*If anyone can suggest any more adjectives I should use to gain additional brownie points, let me know!
